- You can verify that you have a Mac mini Model A1176 by checking the model number on the bottom of your mini. Use the Mac mini identification system to help you identify your machine. - The Mac mini is a desktop computer made by Apple Inc. It was introduced in January of 2005. It is uncommonly small for a desktop computer, and its external power supply is roughly one third of the size of the computer itself. Since 2010, the power supply is integrated directly into the device.
Rotate the mini so that the SuperDrive slot loading mechanism is facing you. Use a pair of tweezers to lift the hard drive thermal sensor cable connector up off its socket on the logic board. Use tweezers to grab the connector (as seen in the picture), not the wires.

The Apple Mac mini 'Core Duo' 1.66 features a 1.66 GHz Intel 'Core Duo' (T2300) processor, a 2 MB on-chip level 2 cache, a 667 MHz frontside bus, 512 MB of 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM (PC2-5300) memory, a 5400 RPM, a 60 GB or an 80 GB Serial ATA hard drive*, a slot-loading 8X 'Combo drive' or 2.4X double-layer 'SuperDrive'*, and an 'Intel GMA950 graphics processor with 64 MB of DDR2 SDRAM shared with main memory.'
Connectivity includes DVI (DVI-to-VGA adapter included) and Firewire '400', four USB 2.0 ports, combined 'optical digital audio input/audio line in' and combined 'optical digital audio output/headphone' minijacks, a 10/100/1000Base-T Gigabit Ethernet port, and built-in AirPort Extreme (802.11g) and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR. It lacks an internal 56k modem, but an external Apple USB Modem could be added for US$49.
Like the Mac mini G4 models, the internal components are cleverly enclosed in a tiny and elegant 2.9 lb, 6.5 inch square, two inch tall case with a built-in speaker and an external power supply.
